Backpacking

Hi!!

These few days, my friend and I and her sister and my mother and my father and my cousins and her cousins.. Hahaha!!!! Just kidding.. if you get mad with my words, please throw your computer out of your window.. (or send it to my house hehehe)

Okay.. Seriously, my friend and I were talking about backpacking these few days and she said that her sister might be joining us, yayyyy!!! This gonna be my first time to backpack because all these while I was either touring in group or touring by ourselves plus lazying, like sleeping by the beach or eat and eat.. We are excited about this and really hope to go out of our cocoon to few  right after Christmas LOLsssssssss!!!

Well, initially we had talked about travelling in group (by travel agent) but there's one reason why we reluctant to do so. The agent informed us that the departure date stated in the quotation isn't confirm. It is subj to change and only can be confirmed about a month before the actual departure date. How la.. ? It's a bit hard for non retired people to take a last minute leave (esp when the leave application is approx 10 days). It's even harder for a minister like me, unless there's a private Jet like the Qatar trip laaah!! Ehemmmssss..

Anyway, although backpacking will be a new thing to me, I bet that I'll enjoy it as much as possible. Travelling in a big group only fun if the group members are kamcheng, otherwise it will be BORING :(

I had the experience travelling in group and the tour guide was so L-c-y. He was shouting at KLIA asking for everyone's passport for check-in like everyone in that group were a kindie kids. If my group were scattered around, it was okay for him to shout but we were already infront of him getting ready for check-in.

Another incident was the tourguide was shouting at the hotel lobby instructing the group to go up to the tour bus. An ugly morning to start the day, hehehe.. why not just get up to the bus and do pax counting?

Another thing that I don't really like to travel in group is the waiting moments. Some people really love to do shopping regardless of shop type. Handicrafts, arts shops, garments stall, katak stall, adults store.. I don't shop in every store and it makes me be the first person to return to the tour bus, always. Some of the member likes to bargain kaw-kaw and it makes the shopping process longer than it should be. In my past touring in group, some of the member thought that I hate to bargain but actually I found nothing interesting to buy, lol..

So, wish me luck for the backpacking trip, my friends and I will be everywhere around the globe (Yah??!! Like our Dad got his own money printer). No way, we haven't even list out the country to visit, Christmas preparation should be the main priority now :D

Happy Friday everyone!!!!

  4. backpacking IS fun! and it allows you to really live and mingle with the locals. Just do thorough research on where you are heading so you'll be able to travel like a traveler instead of a tourist. ^_^

    1. ah, that's not correct.. 10 years ago, i joined a packaged tour to Nepal with a local travel agent lah.. errr, not too bad, because i think we were not too familiar with Nepal so just let the agent did everything..

    2. you are right, traveling in group sure got lots of problems, especially when the group is big.. surely there are different preference and opinions among the members.. just like you said, waiting and shouting, brought to souvenirs shops more than attractions, chinese meals rather than local meals, always sitting in the coach transferring from one place/hotel to another~~ ah, quite a piss-off sometimes..

    4. Yesss.. I would still consider to travel with T/Agent if I feel the 'ma-fan-ness' to do self-arrangements :)

      oh yaa :(
The souvenirs shops, I really dislike it haha

My friends and I will have to choose few countries and we're yet to finalize it. This gonna be our first time, so it's so exciting.. hhahahaha

  8. Backpacking may be challenging because you are not familiar with the place you are going. It will be difficult to find a nice place to sleep eat and go unless you ask the locals.

  9. Hi! Blogwalking here.

Me likey the first paragraph so I guess my computer won't be going anywhere. Hahaa.

Regarding this kind of trips. I don't really like the idea of a travel agent. I mean, it's good... in a way. We save so much time if we have a tour guide. But it's also true that we don't get to spend a lot of time in one spot. Maybe a group wants to stay longer and the other wants to go another landmark or something.

So, for me, like what I did with my friends, just go holiday and go with the flow. :D

    Happy Friday, by the way!
